It’s holiday party season, on top of all the other fun things December brings, which means party decor should be simple, quick and festive. This balloon garland, inspired by retro Christmas lights, does just the trick. All you need are some scraps of paper and a pair of scissors to give balloons a little touch of holiday cheer!

Instructions:

  1. Cut out a Christmas light bulb shape from one of your colors of cardstock. The bulbs have a tab at the top, then get wider and come to a point at the bottom. Use this shape as a pattern to cut your remaining bulbs. We used about 10-12 bulbs per 5 feet of string.
  2. Cut a piece string to your desired length, and cut several 1 1/2” long pieces of black tape. Tape the tab of your light bulb to one side of the tape. Fold the tape over the string and adhere to the other side of the tab on your light bulb. Repeat this all the way down the string, spacing each one about 5-6” apart.
  3. Inflate the balloons using your Balloon Time Helium Tank, and tie your garland to the tail of the balloon. Wrap the garland around a Christmas tree with the balloons as its “topper”, let them float from the ceiling or tape them to the floor behind a dessert table or photo booth and you’re ready for your holiday party!
