Instructions for Standing Spiders:

  1. Inflate balloons with your Balloon Time Helium Tank and attach a ribbon.
  2. Use the ribbon to secure balloons to a table, chair, or wrist while working.
  3. Flip the balloon upside down and twist eight 12″ craft pipe cleaners around the neck of the balloon.
  4. Bend the pipe cleaners so there are four legs on either side of the balloon.
  5. Bend the ends of the pipe cleaners so the critter stands when placed on a flat surface.
  6. Draw a silly or scary face on the balloon with markers or glitter pens, and cut off the ribbon, being careful not to puncture the balloon.

The standing spider will not float, but it will stand up on a flat surface. When bopped on the head it will bounce! To make the spider float, use crepe paper streamers and tape for the legs (no pipe cleaners).

Instructions for Spinning Spiders:

  1. Select two balloons of desired color.
  2. Inflate one to about 9” and the other to about 7.”
  3. Tie the two balloons together at the necks.
  4. Attach a ribbon to balloons and secure to a table, chair, or wrist while working.
  5. Wrap the pipe cleaners around the necks of the balloons at the knot, leaving four ends sticking out on either side of the balloons.
  6. Bend the pipe cleaners down about 4 inches from the ends.
  7. Draw a hungry face on the top of the smaller balloon.
  8. Tape a length of white curling ribbon to the top of the larger balloon.
  9. Pin the other end of the ribbon to the ceiling.
  10. Draw a silly or scary face on the balloon with markers or glitter pens, and cut off the ribbon, being careful not to puncture the balloon.
