Throw the Perfect Graduation Party, from Kindergarten through College
What better way to celebrate a graduate’s achievements than throwing a party for their family and friends? Here are some tips for hosting a party with lots of pomp and circumstance, whether your student is graduating from kindergarten, high school, or college.
Supplies:
- Balloon Time Helium Tank
- Latex balloons – school colors
- Card stock – black
- Poster board
- Tassels – gold
- Scissors
- Glue
- Single hole punch
- School photos of student throughout the years
- “Class of 20–” graduation year banner or sign
- Scrapbooking paper – school colors
- Craft materials
- Photos of student + friends – ask guests to bring
- Permanent markers – assorted colors, silver
Instructions for Invitations:
- Create a stencil for a graduation cap and use it to cut out card stock invitations for each guest.
- Punch a hole in the card stock and attach a tassel to complete the cap.
- Use a silver permanent marker to write party details on the cap.
Instructions for Memory Scrapbook:
- Ask guests to bring any extra photos or keepsakes they may have of the graduate.
- Purchase scrapbooking paper in school colors and craft materials for decorating.
- Set up a craft table for guests to decorate a page with their favorite memories of the graduate.
- After the party, use the pages to create a scrapbook the graduate can keep forever.
When you’re setting up refreshments, have some fun by giving each dish a school-themed name, such as, “Chips & Spanish Salsa,” “Honor Rolls,” “Free from P.E. Cookies,” and “Brownie-Nosers.” Give your entrees names such as, “American History BBQ,” “Biology Broccoli,” “Macaroni Art Pasta,” and “Science Experiment Surprise.”
Send your guests home with fortune balloon favors. Write predictions and words of wisdom on slips of paper and insert them into balloons just before inflating. Hand a balloon to each guest on their way out and have them pop it to read their future. Only adults should pop balloons and discard immediately.
We’d love to see your graduation invitations, scrapbook, and party photos. Please share with the community on Facebook or Instagram.
Note: Adult supervision is required when using balloons. Please read all warnings and precautions on the Balloon Time carton.
