Picnic Party Balloon Relay
Party, Styling, Text and Photos by Sara Schmutz of Confetti Sunshine

Being that this is a “Last Day of School” party, the kids are sure to be full of energy and just needing a few moments to run the excitement off. We came up with a few fun game ideas that you can have all prepped ahead of time and ready to go for whenever your party needs.
Balloons always make games more fun, and this game can double for some party decorations as well (win-win!). We call this game Balloon Relay. It is as simple as it sounds, but even more fun. Instead of balancing an egg on a spoon or filling up a bucket with water, both teams on this relay are racing to see who can gather the most balloons for their team.

Supplies:
- Balloon Time Helium Tank
- Assortment of balloons
- String
- Golf pegs
Instructions:
- Fill up an assortment of balloons with helium. It works best if you have an odd number of balloons (to ensure a winner!).
- Tie each balloon to a golf peg and stake them into the ground at the back of your yard.
To play the game: divide the kids into two teams. Have each team line up and one at a time (in relay race fashion) run to the back of the yard and grab a balloon. The child then has to run back, pass off the balloon to their next team-mate, and go to the back of the line. The next child, with the balloon in tow, has to run and grab another balloon to add to the bundle. The kids have to make sure to hold onto their balloons and not let them go, or else they lose their points. The team with the most balloons at the end wins!
