Helium tank with Easter egg balloons

I couldn’t help but notice that balloons have a very similar shape to eggs, just upside down! And who knew with just a bit of barely-there clear tape you could turn these giant “eggs” right side up and, with a little paint, have yourself some Easter egg balloons. Here’s the quick and easy DIY.

Supplies:

  • Balloon Time Helium Tank
  • 9” or 11” Latex Balloons
  • Acrylic or Craft Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • String, Ribbon or Twine
  • Clear Shipping Tape

Instructions:

  1. Inflate balloons using your Balloon Time Helium Tank and temporarily tie a loose knot to the tail so they don’t slip away.
  2. Flip your balloon over so it looks like an egg shape, and use your paintbrush and acrylic paint to paint your favorite Easter egg designs on them. Use enough paint to get even coverage, without it being too thick. (You don’t want to weigh down your balloon.) Then let dry.
  3. Once dry, carefully untie the string from the tail and use a small piece of shipping tape to adhere the string to the “top” of the balloon, which will now become the bottom. Done! Tip: Do not try to remove the tape once it is on there or the balloon might pop.
  4. Consider using gold leaf or metallic paint for an elegant version at an adult Easter brunch, or all sorts of colors for kids to DIY their own balloons after an egg hunt. There are so many options, and each and every balloon will be different, just like their counterparts from the Easter bunny!
