DIY Apple Balloon Weight

For back to school season, is there anything more appropriate than an apple balloon weight? In just a few simple steps, you can have a DIY surprise for your kids, their friends and teachers. Here’s what you’ll need to create apple balloon weights.

DIY Apple Balloon Weight Supplies

Supplies:

  • Red latex balloon
  • Rice
  • Cup or funnel
  • Green pipe cleaner
  • White permanent marker

Instructions:

  1. First, grab a friend and use the cup or funnel to fill the balloon with rice. It works best if one person stretches open the balloon while the other pours in the rice.
  2. Next, tie the balloon.
  3. Use the green pipe cleaner to create an apple stem around the balloon’s knot. We also added a little pipe cleaner leaf for fun.
  4. Take the permanent white marker and draw on a little apple detail for fun.
  5. Inflate your balloons of choice with the Balloon Time Helium Tank, add a ribbon and tie the ribbon to the stem of your apple weight.
